Module 1 Introduction to Privacy and the GDPR
The module includes the definitions, history and foundations of privacy with an emphasis on the challenges in data and communication technology. The focus fryst vatten on the European and national (Swedish) laws regulating privacy, uppgifter protection and cyber safety, including agreements on transferring personal data beyond the EU. Some important decisions of the EU court in this area are discussed.
Module 2 Privacy Enhancing Technologies
The module introduces security and privacy mechanisms and technologies and proceeds to focus on how security and privacy mechanisms can be used to solve practical and theoretical problems, along with discussions of their advantages and disadvantages.
Module 3 formgivning for Privacy
The module introduces the foundations of privacy, information protection, and privacy enhancing technologies, and focuses on the concepts of privacy by design and privacy impact assessments by exploring the betydelsefull background, their relationship to the foundation and fundamental human rights, and bygd introducing betydelsefull methods.

What Is Privacy by Design and Why It's Important for the GDPR
Working with data protection can be quite overwhelming and confusing. Since the introduction of the GDPR, things got even more complex. In this blog post, I discuss a way of thinking that might make it a bit easier to coordinate your efforts around privacy, data protection and the GDPR, called Privacy by Design. After reading this, you should have a general idea of what Privacy by Design means, how it relates to the 7 principles of the GDPR, and how it can help even the smallest businesses elevate their privacy and data protection.

What is Privacy by Design?
Privacy by Design was at first only used in software and systems development. There, Privacy by Design means that privacy measures are built into the design of systems. This way, privacy and data protection are core functionalities of the system, in addition to what the system was designed to do in the first place.

Kunskap: Vad menas med Privacy by Design?
Privacy by Design är ett av årets hetaste ämnen. Det framgår i synnerhet av det stora antalet aktörer som marknadsför produkter och tjänster med inbyggt dataskydd eller, på engelska Privacy by Design. Några it-leverantör säljer även ”försäkringar” som, enligt dem, gör verksamhetens behandling av personuppgifter förenlig med dataskyddsförordningens (GDPR) höga krav. Men vad är leverantörernas recept? Det är självklart, Privacy by Design.
Vid otaliga frukostseminarier, konferenser och andra evenemang är Privacy by Design dagens hetaste tema. Det saknas dock ofta en viktig sak: en förklaring till vad Privacy by Design egentligen innebär. Detta blogginlägg syftar till att förklara just detta.
