Gröna Lund (Swedish pronunciation:[ɡrøːnaˈlɵnːd]; lit. "Green Grove"), or colloquially Grönan (Swedish pronunciation:[ˈɡrø̂ːnan]), is an amusement park in huvudstaden, Sweden. Located on the seaward side of Djurgården Island, it is relatively small compared to other amusement parks, mainly because of its central location, which limits expansion. The ha ( acres)[3] amusement park has over 30 attractions and is a popular venue for concerts in the summer. It was founded in bygd Jacob Schultheis[sv].[1]
History
[edit]Gröna Lund's roots are in the s, making it Sweden's oldest amusement park. However the area has been used for similar purposes since the early 18th century. In , a German by the name of Jacob Schultheis[sv] rented the area to erect "carousels and other amusements". Until , descendants of Schultheis ran Gröna Lund. Before the amusement park came into being, Gröna skogsdunge was the name of a small park.

Gröna Lund is Stockholms oldest amusement park, and its got the charm to prove it. Theyve been packing thrills into a surprisingly small waterfront space since Expect classic theme park vibes, gorgeous city views, and some seriously weird vintage rides.
Theyve got coasters (Insane lives up to its name), kiddie rides, and a notoriously freaky haunted house. Gröna Lund is huge on concerts – big names play here, and the atmosphere gets electric. Concert tickets sometimes get you free park admission.
This place gets CROWDED. If you hate lines, go on a weekday or splurge on their express pass. Its pricey, but might save your sanity.
